Mark your calendar for this Saturday, June 2nd. JuggerNaut plays their first gig in Jacksonville. Don't worry if you haven't heard of JuggerNaut, because you will. JuggerNaut consists of five of the best musicians in the region playing classic/traditional heavy metal and hard rock. If you enjoy listening to bands like Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Tesla, Dio, etc., then you this is the band for you to see. Juggernaut's first gig is a year in the making, and it will be worth the wait.

Lead vocalist Mark Hurst moved back to Jacksonville from central Florida and joined up with drummer Charlie Ost with the idea of creating a band that played the music that they enjoyed from the 80's and early 90's; the two of them have played together during the early 90's and decided it was time to have another go at it. Lead guitarist Bryan “Shredder” Udell was brought in immediately and they hit the ground running. They soon ran into Lead guitarist Tony Buttram and Bass guitarist Kevin Woolgar, who were working together just as they had in the late 80's and early 90's. Anyone who has played rock music in Jacksonville during the late 80's and early 90's will be, at the very least, familiar with all of these names.

Be prepared to have your head handed to you as these guys tear through covers like they own them. Mark Hurst's vocals soar and he can go from full grit to crystal clear instantly; his voice instantly reminds you of Sebastian Bach of Skid Row, mixed with early Geoff Tate from Queensryche. The combined lead guitar work of Bryan Udell and Tony Buttram is completely phenomenal – perhaps the best in the region. Meanwhile the pounding rhythm section of Kevin Woolgar and Charlie Ost is top-notch.

Thankfully, JuggerNaut is going to pump some much-needed life into North Florida's music scene because their emphasis is on a style of music that is often neglected, but still loved by many. Their first gig is at 8:00PM at the Freebird Live on 1st. Street in Jacksonville Beach with special guests LIFT as the opening act.
